Check out my Slide Show!

Easter

The girls colored Easter eggs for the first time this year, and then we had a very mini Easter egg hunt at my Grandma's house, just like I did as a kid. It was just the two of them hunting eggs, but they still had a good time. We also tried to make it to a community Easter egg hunt, but we were a little late, so the girls missed the egg hunt. They did get to see the Easter bunny though! We definitely missed R on Easter, it just wasn't the same without him. We all got ready for church, but A and little R stayed at home with my parents because they weren't feeling well. We did get a picture of everyone ready for church, though, even if they didn't quite make it to the service! We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter with your families!!!

Tiny Elvis sighting

Tiny Elvis #1

Tiny Elvis #2

Our friends from Florida were nice enough to let us use a bunch of their baby boy things for baby R. We love seeing baby R in the little outfits that we have seen baby C in! They had a post on their blog of their little guy C in a blue jumpsuit, and they called him "Tiny Elvis"...it was too cute! Well, now little R wears the blue jumpsuit, and he is our "Tiny Elvis"!! Although, we think baby R looks more like Elvis in the later years....

Daddy's Boy

R got 5 days of leave just before he left for Iraq, and we enjoyed every minute of it. He had just enough time to take each of us girls out for a special date, have some family visits, and just spend quality time with us before he had to leave us for such a long time. I came across this picture, and I could just feel the love...I thought it was very sweet, and it breaks my heart to think how hard it has to be for R to leave his children, especially little R who will change so drastically while he is away. But they have a special bond, and I am absolutely sure that they will pick up where they left off...which was in a very good place, as you can see from the picture!

Little R's 6 month stats...

One of R's favorite places to be is on his changing table...

This is R's normal position...reclined instead of trying to sit up on his own...

Praciticing sitting up, and having fun at it!

Happy Baby!!! He's getting his workout in his Jumperoo...the greatest thing ever invented!!!

I know I say it every month, but I can't believe that little R is now 6 months old!!! He went to the doctor today for his 6 month well baby appointment. He now weighs in at 18 lbs 6 0z and he is 26" long!! He is quite chunky, and he LOVES his food, but the doctor assured me he is just fine on the charts...in the 50th percentile for weight and length, so I felt better! He is still a very happy baby...he almost always has a smile for us. He is working on sitting on his own, but he's just not there yet. He still has no teeth, even though we have been sure one is on the horizon for months now!!! His sisters still think he is just great, and we all have so much fun with him. We are enjoying every day with him, and if I could just get him to sleep through the night, I would be THRILLED!!!!! (I miss R in many ways, but one of the most prominent is those weekend nights when he would take baby duty and I got to sleep through the night!!)

R has found his toes!!

R has just figured out that he has feet, and he loves them!!! He has to really work hard to get them to his mouth (he has a bit of a tummy that gets in the way), but he works and works until he gets them there!

A visit from a dear friend...

We were lucky enough to have a dear friend visit while R was home on leave before deploying. We met Dawn and her husband John in Aberdeen, MD in 2002 and the Army has sent them pretty much everywhere we have gone since then! John is deployed right now, but we were so excited to see Dawn, Jakob and their new baby girl Mattilyn!! Mattilyn is only a few weeks younger than our little R, so it was fun to see them together! Thanks for stopping by Dawn, it was so great to see you again!!

We are now in Arkansas....

I guess the previous post made it obvious, but we are now living in Arkansas! Most of you know this by now, but R is deploying to Iraq, so the kids and I have moved to Arkansas to be closer to family while he is gone. As it turns out, we will be near all of my family and R's too! Most of his family now lives in or near Arkansas, so it will be a good year of family time for the kids and me. I had planned to post when I had the house unpacked, but the snow this morning changed that!! We have been here just over a week now. The girls have both started their new schools, and they like it, so that is always good! I think we will enjoy being here much better than being out in Georgia by ourselves. We welcome visitors anytime...we didn't have too many out in Georgia...hoping for more this year in Arkansas!!!!
