4th of July

The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays!  And being back in the States for this one made it even more special!

We started the day with the parade in downtown Edmond.

Sittin' right up in the action!

But the clowns were coming...so Little R decided to move back to safer distance with T.

R had just as much fun as the kids!
After the parade it was on to a friend's house for lunch!
And an arm-wrestling match!  With the Arm-Wrestling-Champion-of-the-World!!  : )  R lost...we kinda all knew he would! : )
After lunch and some fun times visiting with two sweet families...and R recovering from his crushing defeat...we decided Braum's was in order.  This is another place that we sorely missed while in Germany.  When we lived here before, we visited Braum's frequently...entirely too frequently.  Like, so often they probably noticed the decrease in sales when we moved...
Two thumbs up...best chocolate milkshake in town!

T is happy!
After ice cream, it was time to go home and rest up for fireworks later that evening.
Having fun before fireworks

R & Little R giving disc golf a try...

Waiting for the fireworks....almost dark!
GREAT day!!  It was so wonderful to celebrate the 4th in the States.  And Little R even made it through about half the fireworks before he fell asleep!  He tried so hard to hang on, but he just couldn't!!  We are thinking maybe by the time he is 10, he'll actually see a full fireworks show! : )
